Sarkari
Software for UK limited companies

Your VAT return and Corporation Tax, worked out on your own computer

Drop your bank statements, sales invoices and purchase bills into a folder. Claude reads them, and you check and approve what it read. Then Sarkari works out all nine boxes of your VAT return and your Corporation Tax estimate. Your books stay on your computer. The reading is done by your own Claude subscription.

Sarkari is software. You install it on your own computer and run it yourself. Nobody at Polyglyph Analytica reads your books or your documents. Nobody here does your bookkeeping or your tax for you, or gives you tax advice.

How it works

Nothing gets into your figures until you've looked at it.

1

Drop it in a folder

Put statements, invoices and bills in your Sarkari inbox folder. Sarkari checks the folder every few minutes, even when Claude is closed. It reads CSV exports itself. PDFs and photos of bills wait for Claude, which reads each one in a new session of its own. You can also add your email in the dashboard. Sarkari then collects the documents attached to new mail into the same folder. It only reads your mail and never sends any.

2

You approve it

Everything lands in a review queue on your dashboard. Nothing counts towards a VAT return or a tax figure until you approve it. An agent can't approve anything by itself. It can only accept what you delegate to it in the dashboard, within the limits you set.

3

You get the figures to file

You get all nine boxes of the VAT return for any quarter, and a Corporation Tax estimate for your accounting period. Export them and check them. Then file them through your usual Making Tax Digital (MTD) software, or through your accountant. Once you approve a VAT return, you can download its nine boxes as a file for bridging software. That's a small tool that sends a spreadsheet's figures to HMRC.

What Sarkari works out

HMRC's rules are written as code and checked by tests. The dashboard you look at and the part that runs on its own use the same code.

VAT return, all nine boxes

For the standard (accrual) scheme. It handles the VAT you can't reclaim, or can only partly reclaim, for you. That covers business entertainment, buying a car, and the 50% rule on car hire.

Corporation Tax estimate

For financial years 2023 to 2027, at 19% and 25%, with marginal relief between them. The profit limits are split across associated companies and scaled down for short periods. A period that crosses 1 April is split by financial year. It takes losses brought forward into account, and gives you the payment and filing dates.

Capital allowances

The Annual Investment Allowance, up to its limit, and the 100% first-year allowance on zero-emission cars. Other cars go in the main pool (18%, then 14% from 1 April 2026) or at 6%. You choose which, because the rate depends on the car.

A dashboard for the year

See your profit and loss, the review queue, the VAT return by quarter and the Corporation Tax estimate. You can change a transaction's category, and export your transactions.

A briefing when you open it

When you open it, you see this quarter's VAT to pay or reclaim, and the days left until the filing deadline. You also see anything waiting for you to approve, or for Claude to read.

Your phone, if you want it

Pair a phone with your computer to see the dashboard away from your desk. Your phone can also tell you when rows are ready for you to check.

Told when it matters

Sarkari tells you when figures wait for your approval, and when a VAT return or Corporation Tax is due soon. For each topic, choose push to your installed dashboard, email, or both. An email says only that something needs you. The details stay on your computer.

Built for figures you file with HMRC

An invoice is written by whoever sent it, so it could be written to mislead you. These rules are there to stop a bad PDF from turning into a wrong VAT reclaim.

  • Every figure is checked before it can go into your books. The net plus the VAT must equal the gross. The date must be a real date. The category and VAT rate must be ones Sarkari knows.
  • No agent approves anything by itself. You accept figures into your books, in the dashboard. An agent can do it only for inbox items you delegated to it there, with a limit on each item and an end date, and it does it in your name. Returns, changes to your books and settings are never delegated. Every change is recorded.
  • It never guesses how something should be taxed. Sometimes HMRC's rule depends on something your documents don't say, such as a car's emissions or private use. Then you choose.
  • Claude is told never to make up a VAT figure. If it couldn't read something, it sets it aside. It doesn't fill the gap.

What it doesn't do

We'd rather you knew this before you buy.

  • It doesn't file with HMRC, and it isn't Making Tax Digital (MTD) software. It works out the figures. You or your accountant submit them through MTD-compatible software.
  • It handles standard (accrual) VAT only. It doesn't handle cash accounting, the Flat Rate Scheme or partial exemption.
  • It's for limited companies only. It isn't for sole traders, partnerships, landlords or Self Assessment.
  • It doesn't do payroll or statutory accounts.
  • It doesn't work out R&D relief, losses carried back, or pension timing.
  • It isn't tax advice.
  • Sarkari is software. You install it on your own computer and run it yourself. Nobody at Polyglyph Analytica reads your books or your documents. Nobody here does your bookkeeping or your tax for you, or gives you tax advice.

Your branches and subsidiaries in the Gulf

Sarkari is for UK limited companies. If yours has a branch or subsidiary in the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Bahrain, Qatar or Kuwait, you can keep its books in Sarkari too. You add each one yourself. You say which country it's in, and its free zone if it has one.

For each one, Sarkari works out what its rules for that country cover:

  • the VAT rate, and when the return is due, in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Oman and Bahrain;
  • the boxes of the VAT return in the UAE and Oman, for the kinds of sale and purchase it covers;
  • an estimate of the tax on profits, and when it's due, in all six;
  • whether it must issue e-invoices, and from when, in the UAE, Saudi Arabia and Oman. Sarkari doesn't make e-invoices.

Qatar and Kuwait have no VAT, so there's no VAT return there.

These figures come from draft rules. Nobody independent has checked them yet. Every figure shows the sources it rests on. Most are official. Some are secondary, such as an accounting firm's guide or a tax news site, and are marked as secondary. Have an adviser in that country check the figures before anything is filed or paid.

Where Sarkari can't work something out, it says so and gives no figure. It doesn't prepare the VAT return for Saudi Arabia or Bahrain yet. In the UAE it doesn't work out the reverse charge or imports. It doesn't decide whether a branch's results belong in your UK Corporation Tax figures. That's for your accountant.

The rules it holds for these countries run to 31 December 2026. It won't work out a later period until they're updated.

You buy Sarkari as a UK company. It isn't sold to companies based in the Gulf.

Where your data is kept

Your books are a file in your home folder. The dashboard runs on your computer and only answers your own computer. Every request to it must carry a secret key.

  • Your statements, invoices, bills and books stay on your computer. None of it is uploaded to us.
  • Documents that need reading are read in your own Claude session, on your own Claude account.
  • Our servers get a daily licence check-in (a licence ID and an installation ID), and your update downloads.
  • A paired phone connects through our relay server. The connection is encrypted end to end, so the relay can't read it.
  • If you choose email notifications, our server sends one short email to the address on your licence. It says which topic needs you, never the details.

What you need

  • Claude Code, signed in to a Claude subscription that includes it.
  • Node.js 20 or newer.
  • macOS, Windows or Linux.

Not tax advice. Sarkari gives you figures to help you and your accountant prepare a filing. It works out the numbers, but it doesn't file them. Always check them against your records and current HMRC guidance before you submit.

Why it is built this way

  1. 1An annual licence, paid in full or in instalments

Sarkari is sold as an annual licence. You can pay for the year in full, in advance. That costs at least 15% less than 12 monthly instalments. Or you can pay in 12 monthly instalments. If you pay in instalments, you owe the whole year. While your licence is paid up, you get every update. If an instalment is missed, or the year ends, this is what happens. Sarkari keeps working unless it has been changed in a way the licence doesn't allow. It stays on the version you have and gets no new versions, security fixes included. Updates start again when you pay what's owed, or for a new year.

  2. 2Your data stays on your computer

Sarkari runs on your own computer. Your own Claude subscription does the thinking. You don't upload your data to another cloud service. Our servers never see your data. They hold only your licence.

  3. 3Get more from your Claude subscription

Sarkari runs on your Claude subscription. You can use the same Claude for other work in your business too.

You need a Claude subscription that includes Claude Code. Claude is made by Anthropic. Polyglyph Analytica is independent of Anthropic.

An annual licence, paid in full or in instalments

Software that works out your VAT and Corporation Tax from your invoices, for you to check and approve. If an instalment is missed, or the year ends, it keeps working for your company on the version you have, unless it has been changed in a way the licence doesn't allow.

£199 a year, or 12 monthly instalments of £19.99

In US dollars, it's $249 a year, or 12 monthly instalments of $24.99. In euros, it's €229 a year, or 12 monthly instalments of €22.99. Pay for the year in full, in advance, and you save at least 15%. If you pay in instalments, you owe the whole year. Prices are before tax. Tax is added where it applies. Try it free for fourteen days first. Then you get:

  • One seat, for one person on one computer at a time. You can move the seat to a new computer.
  • Every update, while your licence is paid up. Updates arrive on their own. If an instalment is missed, or the year ends, your copy keeps working on the version you have, unless it has been changed in a way the licence doesn't allow. It gets no new versions, security fixes included, until you pay what's owed, or for a new year.
  • Your licence renews into the next year by default, paid the same way. You can turn renewal off in the dashboard before the year ends. While card payments aren't open, renewal sends you an invoice. It never charges a card.
  • Your money back in full if you change your mind within 30 days of a licence year starting, with no questions asked. Ask from the dashboard or your purchase email. After that the year stands.
